Henry Burby, a 16-year-old home schooler, has been studying violin since he was 9 years old. His hard work, and his love of the instrument have brought him to New York City's Inter School Orchestra.
He quickly became first chair violin in his first orchestra because of his great attitude and the pride he takes in his music. He loves classical composers, Irish and English fiddling, and the gypsy swing of Stephane Grappelli. He was just invited by the strings coach at ISO to attend the Narnia Arts Festival in Narni, Italy for three weeks this summer. She chose him to be the violinist for a student string quartet she is bringing to the festival from New York. He will get to study with great teachers and work alongside students from all over the world. In order to go to Narnia, Henry needs help with tuition, room and board, and airfare to Rome and back.
