During these unprecedented and frightening times, my family has received some even more terrifying news. We recently found out that my precious 9-year-old cousin, Hasti Darstan, was diagnosed with B cell type Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). ALL is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. "Acute" means that leukemia can progress quickly, and if not treated, would probably be fatal within a few months. This is why it's important for Hasti to get the proper treatment ASAP.
Fortunately, Hasti's treatment has already started but unfortunately, they don't have the privileges of health insurance or universal healthcare. This makes it difficult for Hasti to get the full medical treatment she so desperately needs to survive as it is extremely costly. However, we are determined to get Hasti the best, most effective treatment possible so she can live a long fruitful life.
She is a bright, funny, and full spirited little girl! She has a big bright and wonderful future ahead of her.
