Jose is a friend I met in Punta Cana who is now passing through a harsh situation. He went to Suriname with a promise for a great temporary job. When he arrived he saw the opposite.
Jose went to Suriname for a "great" job opportunity. It was promised to him a very nice income, housing and food for the period. However, when he got there, he saw the opposite. Food was taking two days to arrive, the water they drink was the same water used for their shower in a water hole. The housing was a camp with hammocks.
Despite of this, his coworkers at this place were usually under the effects of drugs and alcohol and they became aggressive often. Also, there were many wild animals in that area that constantly appeared in the camping area.
He had left his car as a warranty for a loan of $2,500 to cover all costs to his travel. Now, the only thing he needs is to come back home with his family, but he ran out of money.
We found a flight for "only" US$690 directly to Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana. So, I am lowering the goal from US$900 to US$690. As I had previously described, there aren't many flights from Paramaribo, so this is maybe a unique opportunity. The flight is scheduled to July 8th.
