Myanmar Children Health Project (MCHP) is raising money to help fund and facilitate the vaccinations of 5000 Myanmar local, underprivileged children for the prevention of Hepatitis B. Donate 15 USD to sponsor 1 child!
Myanmar Children Health Project (MCHP) is a student led organization based in Myanmar first established in January 2018 that aims to improve the healthcare for local, underprivileged children. Our first goal is to facilitate and fund the Hepatitis B Vaccinations of 5000 children before the end of 2023 but ideally much sooner. Hepatitis B is a preventable, but incurable virus that causes damage to the liver and eventually death. Children are more susceptible to chronic Hepatitis B but Myanmar does not have a government program for this vaccine. Instead, only children that are born in hospitals and clinics receive a free vaccine. Although the vaccine itself is relatively cheap (approximately 17 USD equivalent for children above 10 years and 11 USD equivalent for children under 10 years), given that families from our target population make about $80 a month and cannot afford to deliver their children in hospitals and clinics, it is even more essential that their children receive the vaccination that they deserve. So far we have finished 6 Projects and over 1100 local children and is currently in our 7th project with another 446 children. Our current team members consist of about 25 students from the International School of Yangon ranging from ages 14 - 17 and we help organize and fundraise for such events however fundraising is our main difficulty. This fundraising page is for Project 8 which will consist of approximately 500 children which will ideally take place in February of 2020. We decided to start MCHP because we believe that it doesn't take till we're older to start making a change. Change can start now.
Our MCHP team, along with all the children you will help improve the quality of life of, would greatly appreciate if you would kindly sponsor these vaccines.Thank you!
