Buttons eye has gotten worse, this means it needs to be removed before the infection spreads. We've maxed out our own means to save him, and are asking for your help.
I found Button in our backyard covered in flies, fleas & maggots. We wrapped him up and brought him to an Animal Emergency Hospotal where we found out he was a baby boy, 13oz, and very sick. With a red blood cell count at 11%, and transfusion becoming necessary at 20% we were told we could either nurse him back to health with bottle feeding and heavy meds, or go for the transfusion which was not an option financially at the time. Fast foreward three weeks and Button has gained 27 ounces bringing him to 2.5lbs! As of today 7/9/18 we are off all meds, but unfortunately his right eye has taken a turn for the worse. The vet had a hard time seeing because of all the tissue, but she believes an ulcer in his eye has burst, and now his vision has been compromised and there’s an infection currently being treated with new ointment. Our only option at this point to help Button is to remove his eye, and we are not able to do this without help. It breaks my hurt to have to do this, but this is what’s best for him.
