I am a school nurse for a Boston public high school; many of our students are from low-income families and rely on the school for support. As a district, we are suffering from a lack of supplies in our health offices. Our children come to us to help when sick or hungry, and it has become increasingly challenging to meet their needs.
A better-equipped health center will allow for more services for our students. We will be better able to supply their health needs and social-emotional needs as well.
Our office is here to meet those needs.
A hungry child, a sick child, or a child disheartened cannot be expected to perform at their best without support. Our office provides that support and more.
These supplies will help our students and staff, providing them first aid care and a safe environment for self-growth and academic learning.
