Atlas Update:
Our handsome little man is a fighter, and I'm so proud of him! He is still on the cannula for breathing support. He is also still on the biliblanket to help with his jaundice. His levels went down and they removed the lights, but it went back up again. He is still having some issues with heart rate drops and oxygen level drops, but he is correcting them all on his own with no stimulation, so they are happy about that. They said it can be normal for his age to have these episodes, and a lot of the oxygen issues happen right after he eats, so they may be related to some acid reflux.
We are still trying to get used to our new routine, with Jordan making a lot of trips back and forth since I cant drive. Emberlyn is hanging in there and being great while we are with baby brother, but I know she misses us and doesnt understand why we arent home with baby brother yet.
I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to all who have messaged and sent out support through our fundly and meatrain links. We appreciate you all for making this situation even a little more bearable. We love and appreciate you all so much! Please keep praying for our little man! ♡ Thank you!

Atlas Update 11/3/2020

He is receiving phototherapy due to his jaundice levels being slightly elevated. He is still on the high flow cannula as he was working a little extra to breathe without it. So instead of removing it, they reduced the flow a bit to help wean him off of it and get him ready for room air breathing tomorrow. He is also eating pretty well, as his sucking is getting better, making it easier for him to eat!

Our nurse tonight taught us so much, and was truly AMAZING! I told her I couldnt wait to kiss him and get pictures without masks, and she asked why I havent yet. I told her we were told masks needed to be on at all times in the NICU. She told me I could kiss him. I of course, started to cry because I was so happy! Not only did I get to kiss my boy tonight (I had to get covid tested and it was negative), but we also got to get our first picture without masks. Cant wait to get a family picture with Emberlyn too! ♡♡♡

Overall, he had a great day. Please keep sending prayers, and we still have a ways to go through recovery, but today was a good day, and this momma is going to bed happy! ♡♡♡

Atlas Update 11/2/2020:

Day 3 in the NICU. He was put back on the high flow cannula last night to help his lungs with breathing. They are happy with how he responded, and they are going to try to take the cannula off again to let him breathe on his own. They will monitor him closely, and if necessary, out it back on again.

He has jaundice that is just slightly elevated, so our little glow worm is getting bilirubin phototherapy as well. I got to do skin to skin with him for about 3 hours today. We both needed that. He was so comfy on mommy! ♡♡♡

He is eating mommys milk and donor milk out of a bottle mostly, and doing well with feedings. He did have one heart rate drop last night that he was able to fix on his own, and they are happy about that. Before he leaves the NICU, not right now, they will do an ultrasound on his heart to make sure it's ok before we leave. But overall they are happy with how he's doing, and say he is "acting his age".

Continued prayers are appreciated as we still have a road to travel to recovery for both of us.

Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, and reaching out!
