Lifting the veil of years that frequently weigh on an adoptee, who have never known their genuine roots, is hard to define. Help us help adoptees defer the cost associated to finding their birth family roots.
With every search comes the possibility of finding birth family. Please help us, help others, on their search for biological family!
Performing a search to find birth family is challenging. It requires patience, zeal, and a willingness to step outside of the normal boundaries and comfort zone most adoptees feel obligated to maintain in their adopted families.
Our growing volunteer group of genealogists set aside time and personal costs related to search, to help adoptees on their journey into their unknown past. In one way or another all of us are touched by adoption. Whether it be a family member, close friend, or co-worker, we all know of someone who was adopted and often wonder how they cope with "not knowing" about where they came from.
The mission of search angels is to help bring the tenacity required, spending countless hours to unravel these personal and unique stories. Moving forward is never easy, but with a lot of encouragement, shared sentiment from fellow adoptees, and our commitment to stay the course, anything is possible.
An adoptee should have the same rights as everyone else, who know where they came from and who their ancestors were. For many adoptees, who become parents, it suddenly dawns on them that their child is the first biological relative they have ever met.
Learning about their past, can give them the foundation to know intimate knowledge of their very nature and potentially, knowledge of their health related information missing throughout their entire lives. Closing the book on these mysteries takes time and dedication, but the effect is nothing short of incredible, for each and every person touched by adoption.
Words cannot express enough thanks to Search Angels and the help of Lisa Freeman (My Search Angel) in finding my birth parents. Lisa was an absolute jewel to work with and made my dream come true at age fifty-one. This proves to never give up hope in locating the identity of your loved ones. Thanks again for all your help and in such a short amount of time. God Bless each and every one of you who volunteer at this great organization.
