A friend of mine lives in Rhode Island and has suffered severe child abuse. He is looking to escape this situation and move to a safe harbor in California. This money will go towards tickets and supplies.

A friend of mine has grown up with severe child abuse. He has been beaten, starved, and neglected medically, financially, and emotionally for many, many years. Although now over 18, his parents have used internet access to threaten his sanity and access to the outside world. He is not allowed to leave the house, and any attempt to do so will result in more abuse.
After a recent altercation which resulted in yet another beating, his internet and ability to communicate with the outside world was removed. They have threatened to smash his computer if they see him using it. He cannot pack any bags until the day of escape, otherwise they will punish him further and prevent him leaving.
He is planning on moving to California very soon to live with his boyfriend and start over his life. Any money you can give will be donated to him via Western Union or similar services, and he will use them to restart his life.
Everyone deserves a fair chance to live free and happy in this world. This man was not given that chance. If you have the spare change, consider donating and making that chance a reality.
