i do a lot of reading and research for my threads, articles, and essays. i am an autodidact and that limits my access to scholarly amenities, and my printing costs are high. so i'm raising funds to cover my costs.
y'all wild af, but i appreciate you. seeing this makes me wish i wasn't poor so i could sprinkle some goodness on some of these other fundlys. thank you so much.
my cash is $thotscholar if you prefer that
MAY 2021 UPDATE:
i raised my goal to accomodate my research costs because i underestimated my printing costs, and i also need a fund for purchasing books for reference before i dive deeper into sex work politics for my book low end theory. over the past few years i have done interviews, read academic and lay scholar essays, read 50+ books, and publicly documented my evolution (on Twitter) on several different related issues. i would also like to be able to hire someone to transcribe my recorded interviews, and perhaps a copyeditor for finishing touches. i do all the rest of the publishing stuff for my books, including cover design, developmental editing (with the help of peer reviewers hopefully), and putting the book together in InDesign. if i could get some help offsetting these costs, i would really appreciate it. it would allow me to finish my book a little bit fatser. (i've been working on it since 2016!)
i do all my printing at FedEx because it has the most room-- the UPS by my house is cramped and people don't know what 6 feet means. FedEx charges $0.49 per page, which is steep considering the amount of printing i do. i have to replace a $250-300 dehumidifier and i just got home from NYC for another work thing, so i can't afford to print what i need, but i need to get going so that i can plow through the rest of this book this summer. i have a hard time reading on devices, and i like to highlight and annotate as well, so that's why i print. last time i printed stuff i spent about $100. i have way more to print this time around, so i'm asking for help building a mini-grant to cover these costs.
