Thank you so much to everyone who has generously donated to Healthy Paws Grenada! Some friends and I traveled the island yesterday and we were able to feed some pups in need. It will never get easier seeing dogs in these conditions, but with all of your donations, and all of my friends wanting to help, I am feeling very grateful that we get this opportunity to make a small difference in their lives. #HealthyPawsGrenadaThanksYou

Hello friends!

If you know me, even in the slightest, you probably know that I think very highly of animals. I am what some call “a crazy-obsessed dog lady”, but I truly love all animals! You also might know I am currently living on the beautiful island of Grenada, a very tiny country in the West Indies. I love most things about my new home, except I really hate one thing about it…the number of homeless animals here is heartbreaking!

The Backstory:

I am in a unique situation right now where I live on this island, I have a lot of extra time on my hands, I make very little money (wife of a medical student), and I have a bleeding heart to help these helpless, precious animals living in Grenada. This all lead me to think about how I can do something that matters with my time. So, I am starting a “passion project”, which I have named Healthy Paws Grenada.

With the help of the amazing Grenada SPCA (http://grenadaspca.com/) I was able to start feeding some of the homeless dogs on my street, and even give them some preventative medicine to help with worms, fleas and ticks. However, I want to do much more than just help the ones nearby. Grenada is not big, but it is 21 miles long and I would love to spend my time traveling around the whole island helping animals in need. This will include feeding them, paying for medical treatment they need (lots of dogs get hit by cars here and never get the medical attention they need), as well as providing preventative medicine.

How you can Help:

Although there is really no end goal in mind, because I have no idea how much money I need to feed and keep all of these animals healthy, I am setting a goal of $5,000. I am using a free fundraising website called “Fundly”. Your donations are securely processed though their payment partner “WePay”. There is no minimum amount to donate, even a dollar goes a long way here! I will be sharing daily pictures and videos of all the animals we help with your generous donations via my instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/healthypawsgrenada/

To help me get the word out, please share my campaign!
