I am raising money for a headstone for my brother’s grave. He has a 6 year old son, Liam, who finds comfort visiting his grave, and I want to make it a nicer place for him to visit and leave things for his dad.
My brother Bradley passed away at the end of December 2018 due to liver and kidney failure. Unfortunately, he did not have health or life insurance having lost his job only months prior, and had no idea he was about to need those things in a major way.
Bradley was in the hospital for well over a month before this horrible disease took him from us. His wife, Meg, has been overwhelmed with bills and the aftermath left behind without her husband. It is hard enough grieving without such financial burden. My heart aches for her.
The last physical thing Bradley needs on this earth is a headstone for his grave. Right now his grave remains unmarked. This has been very upsetting for Bradley’s six year old son Liam (my nephew). Liam wants to leave his dad gifts at his grave and talk to him, but right now he is only looking at unsettled ground, a place he definitely does not want to leave things for Bradley.
Meg told me she was planning on financing the money for a headstone over the course of the next 3 years. I felt the need to try to help raise the money instead. I think Bradley would be so sad knowing she was going to have another bill added to her plate right now.
So many people have asked how they could help or what they could do. I didn’t know how to answer that question until now. I know for a fact there will be a weight lifted off of everyone left behind that loved my brother if we can raise the money to fund a nice headstone for him.
Thank you in advance for every donation regardless of the amount. Every bit helps!
