Baile Dior Studios is a community-based organization in Renton-Seattle area that provides youth an open creative environment for recreational and competitive dance activity. We offer hip hop, jazz, contemporary and majorette (j-sette) for youth ages 5-21 from diverse ethnic, social and financial backgrounds.
Our mission is to build youth's social emotional skills with sportsmanship, increase self esteem and support student academics. We use the art of “J-SETTE” to connect youth in our community to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, making Baile Dior is one of kind. Baile Dior creates opportunities within education and performing arts not offered to youth Pacific Northwest. In our 5 years we have had a tremendous impact on connecting African American youth to their southern roots of dance and opportunity to travel while doing it.
Our Founder, TiQuida Spellman, a Seattle native and Special education teacher with over 20 years of experience in Performing Arts. Has been a dedicated coach to youth throughout the King County area for over 13 years. Training in dance, cheerleading, theater and drill, Coach TiQuida's passion is to bring culturally relevant art to youth in schools and bridge the educational gap.
Baile Dior Studios has been a mobile program over the past 5 years, rehearsing at parks and community centers. The inconsistencies in location have limited the opportunity for youth to continuously participate in our programs. With the efforts of our Director, we have acquired a new location in Renton, Washington.
We are currently seeking donations to help cover the renovations of our new studio, $2500 removal of wall, $1500 new paint, $3500 remove/ install new floor, $1200 Mirror installation, and $1300 in training equipment.
We thank you for your support!
