I am Derek. Being part of the GLBT community comes with its joys and challenges. At the heart of what drives me to conduct social responsibility has been my personal experience with the health and wellness field, both as a client and professional. Many of the turning points, epiphanies, altered the course of my life and has lead me to complete my education in Mind Body Medicine, from the College of Integrative Medicine and Health Science (Saybrook University). I have also attended several workshops and trainings to enhance my own personal: growth, health, and well-being. Such as Holotropic Breathwork and Ayahuasca ceremonies for self-exploration

In reading my published dissertation (available for free download) entitled "The Lived Experience Of Intuition and Immersion in the Holotropic Breathwork® Community: An Autoethnography" you will begin to situate yourself with who I am and my research where I blended autoethnography and elements of intuition and immersion from heuristic inquiry. In order for me to graduate and hold the Ph.D. that I have now, it was required for me to be purposefully vulnerable and self-disclose epiphanies and how I overcame difficulties and challenges in my life. While this was a challenging task, what was most rewarding, was how I conducted research aimed at personal and social transformation for a (a) mass and diverse audience and (b) anyone interested in reading the final product.

After completing my doctoral education, I realized it was essential to engage in social responsibility. First, I want to focus on the Hawaiian islands, where I was born and raised, to give back to the people of Hawaii. Specifically to the Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center

The highest bidder will receive:

(a) a custom-made painting, inspired by the concept of self-actualization, made by a local Hawaii painter. My experience with the painting helped me cope with and overcome grief and loss from a relationship I had to end as I traveled various destinations such as Norwood (Colorado), Tuscon (Arizona), and Edinburgh (Scotland).

(b) a coffee meeting with me and the local painter - @aloha621, and

(c) a full 24-hour date with me - @derekgalanto that can be used at anytime, anywhere in the world where I am allowed entry with my United States passport and current entry requirements.

I will had deliver the painting to you at the beginning of the date.

Once the date starts, you can utilize the full 24-hours or end the date at anytime (e.g. 4, 8, 24 hours). What you think and/or feel is the right amount of time for the experience. I will flow with you.

If the same bidder donates several times during the fundraiser, the total amount of their bids will be tallied on Monday, December 13 at 10am HST to determine winner of all the prizes listed above. For example, if Chris donates $50 today, then another $15 on the last day, their total will be $75. This total will be ranked along with other donors and their total donations to determine the winner. @aloha621 will be helping me monitor the fundraiser, conduct rankings, complete the outreach to the winner, and walk with me to the hhhrc to deliver all proceeds.

Should this fundraiser be of interest to anyone you know, could you kindly forward or repost (a) this fundraising link or (b) any post or story, or reel (with the fundraising link). By doing this, anyone that might be interested will have an opportunity to be a part of supporting the Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center with their donation. All donations are fully tax-deductible.
