Update #3

I foolishly thought you incredible people were done for the moment but enough people have asked how they can continue to help so we've opened the campaign back up and pushed the fundraising goal up a bit. The ultimate goal of the funds is still the same, supporting Hattie in every way possible as we go through this journey with her. We're still amazed and encouraged at the wide range of support all of you have given us in this fight.

Hattie began her second round of treatment about two weeks ago, unfortunately the side-effects of this specific treatment were more pronounced, causing her to have very painful mouth sores and rash, amid other issues. After a few days of respite, she's on the mend and about to begin more treatment. It can become cliche but no less true to say that no child should ever have to go through this; she's been so strong despite being so young.

Thanks for walking with us.

- Andrew

More Info

So many friends and family have lovingly sent their thoughts and prayers for Hattie’s health, and so generously asked how they can help financially, knowing emergency medical situations are very expensive (especially when it includes an ambulance ride from Pensacola, FL to Children’s Health Care of ATLANTA). We actually do not yet know the final costs and they are likely still rising, but even with insurance aid, it will not be cheap.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sending all of your prayers, thoughts, and messages to Hattie, Lauren, and Andrew. This page is simply a vessel to continue loving them.

Update #2

Hi everyone, this is Hattie's dad, Andrew. I know the fundraiser has concluded but I just wanted to express Lauren & I's gratitude for everyone who contributed to help us in this fight. I've tried to write this several times in a way that would capture how grateful and blown away we are at the immense generosity from family, friends and complete strangers but all my attempts seemed insufficient. These funds will help us to focus our full attention on spending time taking care of Hattie and support her in whatever way we need to without all the worries that come along with long hospital stays and costly medical bills. Thank you for giving us some room to breathe.

Back to most important and incredible person: Hattie! Since the initial diagnosis, we have received good news regarding the genetics of her leukemia that aid in treatment and most recently, a negative MRD that essentially translates to little no leukemia present in her bone marrow after five weeks of treatment. This functions more as a milestone on this long road but is nonetheless a good indicator. She handled the first round of treatment about as well as she could with intermittent side effects, which we're definitely grateful for. Due to her age, Hattie was placed in a more intensive treatment regimen so that will require additional inpatient stays and more chemo drugs as we go through the next round. Suffice to say, we are vastly more appreciative for the days we get to spend at home.

I'll find a better way to keep everyone updated in the meantime. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to donate or share encouragement, it means more than you know.

Update #1

Hey Friends. Thank you so incredibly much for all of the love, prayers, and support for Hattie, Lauren, and Andrew over the past couple of weeks.

While most of you know, we wanted to announce for all of the donors and supporters who do not yet know, Hattie was diagnosed with B Cell Leukemia last week and is remaining in the Hospital at CHOA for now. We are all sad, scared, and unsure, but Hattie has been an absolute warrior through it all, so we are going to all step up and be warriors with her. Prayer is real, and we need it now more than ever, so please continue to send your thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement to Hattie and her amazingly strong family. They go so far in times like these.

Thank you again for all of the love and support.

Taylor and Lindsay
