We want to inform you of the postponement of the November 19, 2013 Oregon premier of The Gentleman of the Senate: Oregon's Mark Hatfield. This delay is temporary and you will be notified of the re-scheduled screening as soon as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The push to completion has brought about an unexpected but very welcome challenge. Since the announcement a flood of relevant material and assets vital to telling the story of Mark Hatfield have surfaced and will make the finished product even better. But we need more time to acquire those assets.
In addition key historical materials have been slow to arrive as planned and procuring selected materials from copyrighted sources has proved difficult at times.
We thought long and hard about changing the date but our goal from the beginning is to tell the best story possible about Senator Mark Hatfield and postponing the premier is the best way to really capture his life and create a record of this very important figure in Oregon history.
Combined with the dozens of interviews, representing hours of video, which have already been completed and edited, these opportunities promise to make this film about an Oregon treasure, Mark Hatfield, even better. We look forward to sharing it with you.

Senator Mark O. Hatfield is the greatest political leader in Oregon's history. His incredible legacy spans over 40 years in public service and includes serving in both chambers of the Oregon Legislature, as Secretary of State, two terms as Governor, and 30 years in the U.S. Senate - the longest term in Oregon history.
But Senator Hatfield's legacy reaches far beyond Oregon's borders. During his significant tenure in the United States Senate, he stood steadfast as a conscientious leader and principled statesman and was an important participant in some of our nation's most critical moments of the 20th Century.
The Hatfield Project is a 501c(3) non-profit organization created to capture Mark Hatfield's story in a documentary film. As such, it relies on the generous support of groups and individuals who share the goal of honoring Sen. Hatfield by telling his story. Please help us with this effort by contributing today.
As part of its mission, The Hatfield Project is donating a copy of the DVD to every library in Oregon, as well as planning additional showings across the state in 2014.

Over the last three years, Devon, Kevin and Rick have been busy. They’ve filmed 58 interviews with former staff, congressional colleagues and a president.
Given Senator Hatfield’s influence in these people’s lives, over the course of his 46-year career in public service, they have a lot to talk about. With an average interview length taking up over half an hour, we’ve collected well over 24 hours of interview footage.
The final run time on the The Gentleman of the Senate: Oregon’s Mark Hatfield is going to be about an hour and fifty minutes. So, there is a lot of really amazing footage that we can’t fit into the theatrical version of the documentary.
The second disk of the set will include a best-of-the-interviews section, highlighting all of the great clips we couldn’t fit into the theatrical version but are definitely worth watching.
We’re also coming up with some other bonus features, including interviews with executive producers on why they chose to do a documentary on Hatfield and what they’ve learned in the process.
If you haven’t already, purchase a 2-disk copy at the $50 level or just buy a $125 VIP ticket to the premiere, which includes the 2-disk DVD and an invite to the reception prior to the 8:30pm screening.

We’re very excited to host the world premier The Gentleman of the Senate: Oregon’s Mark Hatfield at the end of this Fundly campaign on November 19th at 8:30 p.m. The screening will take place at the Antoinette Hatfield Hall in the Dolores Winningstad Theatre, located at 1111 SW Broadway in Portland, Oregon.
There are two ways you can get to the premier. A $50 donation gets you a ticket to the screening. However, by donating $125 you get the VIP treatment - one ticket to the 8:30 screening, a copy of the 2-disk DVD (delivery in March 2014) and an invitation to the private VIP reception hosted prior to the showing at the Oregon Historical Society Museum.
There are only 100 VIP tickets and 200 general admission tickets available. If you would like 2 tickets, please donate at the $100 and $250 level for general admission and VIP, respectively.
Once the tickets are sold out, we will maintain the campaign page to offer sales of the DVD, general support and some other donation levels we will announce over the next few weeks.
Once you donate at either level, you'll receive a confirmation at the email address you specified. Bring this to the screening. We will also add your name to our list at the door in case you forget.
