Happy Snappers Adelaide - Photography for mental health

From Alexander Mausolf

More Info

My name is Alex Mausolf, and I have created an entity called "Happy Snappers Adelaide." We are offering photographic equipment, knowledge and support for those that experience mental health challenges, working in conjunction with various mental health and community groups throughout Adelaide, so that they can offer this experience for up to eight of their participants at a time.

I am seeking your assistance so that a couple of camera setups can be purchased, with three lenses and a flash. One lens is for wide-angle landscapes or cityscapes, one lens is for distance and animal photography and the other is for photographing the small details of things. The flash is very handy for the small object photography.

With your kindness and generosity, I can help the participants to reach even higher levels of creativity, self-expression and the resulting boosts in self-confidence, as I assist them to learn how to use a digital camera so as to be able to capture their ideas photographically.

Currently, many groups are limited to their participants only being able to use their mobile phones, which do not offer the range and options of expression available through the use of a digital camera. Just simply being able to adjust the aperture will allow the participants to explore one technique of their visual storytelling  by selecting which parts of the image are in focus - something that is unachievable when using just a mobile phone for photography. There are many other techniques that can be explored through the use of a digital camera.

With thanks for your generosity and support.
