The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide relief through monetary donations for the Guillen Family, who lost their home and all belongings in an early morning fire on 5/2/13 in Las Cruces.
Gus Guillen is an employee of our company Groundbreakers LLC. He has been with us since we began in January 2012 and worked with Pete Tierney and Exscapes prior to that. Gus has a wife and a baby boy who is a year and a half old. Gus is a remakable employee whom Nate and I feel compelled to reach out for, given his family's unimaginable cirumstance.
Gus is a hardworking individual with a heart of gold. He shows up for work every day to support his wife and child. He never misses work, and at 22 years old has proven himself a leader and a very intelligent and capable young man. Over the years, Gus has saved his earnings in order to purchase their first family home, it was newly furnished and had only been occupied for several weeks before it was consumed in the fire. The family had not yet obtained fire insurance and they are still working to find out if any of their loss will be covered, as their trailer caught fire as a result of an adjacent burning trailer. Gus told Nate he awoke gasping, unable to breathe. He quickly noticed that the bedroom wall was engulfed in flames. He and his wife were able to reach their baby in time, and managed to escape the burning home. He said he watched from Picacho Avenue as their entire home and all of their possesions quickly burned.
We would like to reach out to our friends and family in an effort to provide support for this family. They will be working to rebuild their lives, and could certainly use the monetary help in doing so. If you are able to donate e know it would be greatly appreciated, if you are unable, we understand and just hope that you will keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
