Growing Our Small Business

Growing Our Small Business

From Bianca Zarconekibbee

We are looking to raise money to add a building on our property to become our business office as we have run out of space in our spare room. We also want to become a licensed business to sell at events around our area.

Lost & Loved Oddities is a small home-based online business. I create in a small, shared office space with my husband. Because of this, I only have a small corner with a folding table. I struggle to find room to put completed items, an area to package orders, and a space to create. I often must put things on the floor. Because of the spacing issue, it allows our toddler to get his hands on various items of mine. He has in the past broken a couple of finished products. He has also taken, and misplaced various items needed for packaging. Thankfully we can keep the more dangerous items just out of reach. We planned on this only being temporary, however the needs of my business have grown substantially within the few weeks of relaunching.  Even when everything is put away in a safe place, away from little fingers, we are left with a very small area for working(as shown in the photo above). Often juggling items from place to place to satisfy the most current need. We would like to install a she-shed, with insulation and electricity so that we have the proper space needed to run sufficiently. We also aim to become licensed so that we may sell at events around our area. Any funds left over after building and licensing will go towards new supplies to help our business further flourish. Having a private building will keep our projects and our son safe, as well as give enough room for completed items, packaging, and creating. We have estimated the complete costs to be about $2,500 to ensure everything is done correctly. The last thing we would like is an electrical fire or insufficient insulation from the elements.

Once our fundraiser is fulfilled we will post the progress on our various social media sites, allowing everyone to see first hand where to the donations are going.
