Small family in small coastal town in Northern California facing multiple hardships this year starting with the death of my 21 y/o girlfriend and ending with the unexpected death of my grandmother and the loss of a job on top of the holidays. After dealing with a very rude funeral director, we settled on the final cremation price of $955 with us providing our own urn (+$130). As my grandfather nor disabled mother could afford this huge bill. I was the only one left to step up, selling my stocks and taking out all my retirement funds to pay for this and stay on top of all my other bills and holidays.
