Last summer, my partner and I rescued a two year old cat who was unable to use his front legs. By the time we found Link he had been left lying on a couch with little care and no medical attention for over a month. He was severely underfed and his whiskers had been cut off.
When we brought him home, Link instantly became a part of our family. He loves to play, has a great appetite, always gives himself a bath after he eats, and just wants to be a normal healthy cat. After obtaining a costly MRI, Link was diagnosed with bone cancer. Even though we've learned that Link will never walk again, he is a part of our family and we want to keep him happy and healthy, just like our other cats.
Link loves to snuggle and watch our ferret run around the house. His favorite toy is his catnip "Mousie" and he'll throw it around like crazy. His daily care includes expressing his bladder to prevent infections, nighttime diapering, and administering twice-daily pain medication.
Link's oncologist recently provided us with information about cancer treatments that could help manage his symptoms better than medication alone. However, these treatments are costly. The price ranges from $450-1000 per treatment. At this time, we're unable to provide these treatments for our sweet kitty.
With your help, we may be able to shrink Link's tumor and provide extra pain relief on top of his oral medications. Any donations would greatly help our family, as even Link's oral medications can be expensive.
We love Link more than anything and we plan on providing him with the best care possible while he's with us. Thank you for helping us reach that goal!
