'Going Dark' Documentary by Pauline

From Pauline Schneider

I spent a year following Dr. McPherson documenting his lectures and presentations, resulting in a 30 minute documentary and hours of footage available on youtube. Please help support our work. Thank you so much!

Update #5

The past year has been an amazing experience. Going Dark documentary has been viewed by thousands around the world and embedded hundreds of times. It has challenged people to look at their lives and consider the hamster wheels they may be on.

The lesson I have learned from this experience is to live in love, not in fear.
Living in fear leads us down a dark road of pettiness, narrow mindedness and hate.

Grace, love, beauty and truth, these bring us closer to nature and to each other, and take us further from hate, greed, ugliness, lies.

Thank you for being part of this.
Blessings and good luck on the way into the Abyss.

Love
Pauline

What would you do if you found out you were going to die?

How would tell your story?

And to whom would you tell it?

What would your last days look like?

Would you celebrate or grieve?

Fight or let go?

With whom would you spend your final moments?

This is your legend.

What if you knew it was the last legend?

How would you tell it?

Hello fellow concerned friend of the planet.

I'm working on a documentary project related to Dr Guy McPherson and his climate presentations. Guy's unique message of hope and compassion in a time of climate and environmental devastation is so needed now. He often quotes the naturalist, Edward Abbey, who said "Action is the antidote to despair." Guy has been active in sharing the critical science that the mainstream media refuses to talk about, and he's even left the ivory tower of academia to learn to live off of the land in a caring way and to teach others how to live a simpler life, and to prepare for economic and climate collapse. I'd love some support in getting his message out with this documentary.Any amount you can spare helps. When you donate please indicate if you wish to remain anonymous or are okay with honorable mention in the final product. Thanks! :)

Update #4

I always imagine what would happen if everyone who watched Going Dark gave even just $5.00 (remember that's what movies used to cost to see?) and shared it with ten people they know and asked them to do the same. I imagine that it would feel like I was being supported by very thoughtful people who watched this film and were moved by it.
There have been those who have been far too generous and I deeply appreciate their support. However, I'm hoping others can step up and if they watched GD, to please send me a sign that they did. In Greenbacks, if I may be so bold.

Going Dark has been featured in four Film Festivals since its completion last August 2014 (it's the first film I've ever made). It's been seen by over 25,000 people on youtube and Vimeo and shared more than 2000 times in a variety of ways. It's been watched in libraries, in theaters, in living rooms, on laptops and on smart phones. It's really popular in Chile! If everyone who'd watched it so far had donated even $1.00 I'd have had half my costs covered and could breath a little. But the credit card companies want their interest payments regardless of who supports me or not.

The Fundly campaign has raised $4,600.00 while VImeo's tip jar has earned it $260, Youtube monetization has earned me a shocking $0.02 cents! Rather disappointing results, to be quite frank, though what has been donated so far has been greatly appreciated by the credit card company.

I spent approximately $40,000 of my own money (savings & the plastic bank) on it and now I'm practically stone broke. People asked me why didn't I raise the money first. Please see the total amount raised here at Fundly even after the project was done and available for viewers for the correct answer to that question.

I continue to create short videos with Guy via Skype which he makes available at no cost on his youtube channel, Nature Bats Last, for his Edge of Extinction episodes. But nothing is free. The internet we pay for, the software we use, the equipment we use, the time we spend, all comes at a cost to us so that we can educate and inspire and share this message with you: At the Edge of Extinction, Only Love Remains.

You can watch Going Dark here on Vimeo in High Definition. https://vimeo.com/101529069

Please don't forget to tip me. I appreciate any amount you can spare.
