Transplantation is expensive and the only option for Jay. He was diagnosed in 2012 & has been on the donor waiting list since June of 2013. He takes over 15 medications a day!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE TIMSON'S!
We hope this holiday finds you and your family healthy! Jay is doing well and we are planning on enjoying our family time to max! Love to all <3
Liver transplantation is a huge monetary drain on any family. It reaches far beyond the actual surgery itself as the medications that are required to be taken for the remainder of the recipients life are horribly expensive. Due to this expense we are appealing to the kindness of family, friends and strangers to help raise funds for Jay's liver transplant.
Jay is a loving husband and a father of three beautiful children ages 17, 12 and 8. He works in the golf industry and is an avid sports fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.
We understand that times are hard and any donation is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use as we attempt to put Jay on the road to a healthy life.
Our family was able to help a neighbor this past week. We had never met them before and happened to be home to help when tragedy struck. Since then, it has been an emotional roller coaster. I have to say that my 'faith' in humanity was pretty low in general. This instance has allowed me to see that there are still amazing people in the world who love and give with all of their hearts. Today that family is heavy in our hearts as they say good-bye to their child.
Love your family. Hug your children. Be thankful for all that you have, even if it isn't a lot. </3
Fall here in Florida.....the weather is finally starting to cool off and the kids are super busy with fall ball! Jay is doing so well right now that he is even helping to coach Gaige's softball team! We are so thankful for his health right now. Thank you all for your love and support <3 HAPPY FALL!
You can donate as much or little as you want. Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife .
We are back from Jay's most recent evaluation. It was MRI time this round. All was clear and his MELD score is still very low. The higher the number the quicker you get a liver.......so, we won't be seeing a transplant anytime soon. With that being said, we are going to continue to plug away, enjoy our children, family and friends. We can't thank everyone enough for the continuing support and love. I will continue to update as we go along!!
As always, feel free to share our page on yours!
We are coming up on Jay's quarterly check.......he always enjoys the massive amounts of poking and prodding they put him through! We will keep everyone posted on the visit!! As always, feel free to share our page on yours! Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
Well our two youngest are back to school! They are starting the 3rd and 7th grades. Our oldest daughter is starting her college career in a few weeks. There are a lot of changes going on in our lives!! Jay is scheduled to go back to the Mayo Clinic in September for his 3 month evaluation. He has been feeling really well so we don't anticipate a lot of changes. However, we are still required to fundraise so this sit helps us to do that!! At some point, we will utilize this fund for surgery. You can donate as much or little as you want. Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
Thank you as always to those who loves us!! <3
Well summer is coming to an end and our kids are getting ready to go back to school!! One 7th grader, one 3rd grader and a freshman in college!! Where does the time go! We are still patiently waiting for a liver for Jay. He goes back to The Mayo in September for his 3 month evaluation. He is feeling pretty good right now and we are thankful. Appreciate all of the love and support <3
We had a good day! All of Jay's blood work is good (for a man who needs a liver). His Dr said that he was incredibly pleased with his 'recovery' since coming to the Mayo a year ago. Recommended we enjoy the health he has for now since they, unfortunately, can not predict when it will end so we are going to continue listening to The Mayo! For those of you who always ask.......his MELD score went up one point and is still considered too low to even hope for a transplant anytime soon. They did say that we do not, under any circumstances, want to 'relax' in regards to his health.....always on the lookout for the signs the shunt is failing. Thank you AGAIN and AGAIN to all who love us!! It means so much! <3
Please go to the above link and purchase a shirt/hoodie!! We have to sell 50 in order to receive full benefits! Thank you for your support!
Yesterday we reached another milestone we weren't sure Jay would see. Our oldest daughter, Marilyn, graduated from The Villages High School. It was wonderful to have Jay there to see her walk across that stage and receive her diploma....we are so happy and proud! Thank you to everyone who supports our journey <3
We wanted to thank everyone who came out on Friday and made Jay's 40th birthday so amazing! Jay doesn't get to see his friends as often as he would like and having everyone in one place was wonderful!! A year ago, his dr.'s said he wouldn't live to see his 40th birthday, well my fighter showed them all wrong. He is a testament to what love and support can do!
Again, thank you to those who support Jay's journey through sharing updates on Facebook and a HUGE thank you to those that have donated, some many times, through this site. ALL donations bring us one step closer to his new life!!
We love you all so much http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
On May 9th Jay will reach his 40th birthday!! A year and a half ago we were told he wouldn't live to see this landmark in his life. I'm so glad they were WRONG! Jay is stable but our journey is still in full swing.
What better way to help him celebrate than to SHARE this page with friends and family and DONATE if you can. Any amount adds up......
Again, thank you to all who love and support us! We couldn't make this happen without you! http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
June is fast approaching and Jay will have been listed for ONE YEAR! We, of course, are bummed that we haven't gotten "the call" yet but we are hopeful that the right organ will come to him eventually. In the meantime, we are still urged to fundraise and although we are grateful for all of the kindness shown to Jay and his journey, we still have so very far to go......
If you would like to help Jay reach his campaign goal on #Fundly! You can donate as much or little as you want. Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
Love and thanks to all <3
Today we are at The Mayo Clinic for Jay's 3 month evaluation. He has to go through these in order to update his MELD score for the transplant list. It is a full day of testing including bloodwork, MRI and office visits to many of his doctors. We are still far from our goal and could use your help to reach our campaign goal on #Fundly! You can donate as much or little as you want. Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
With the start of 2014 we are still pretty far from our goal to be able to help fund Jay's transplant. We are hopeful that the life changing event will happen SOON!! Please consider donating to help us reach our goal. We would appreciate you sharing our fundraising page on your social media!! Love to all!
As we share our Christmas Eve with our children, we would like to thank all of you, those we know and those we have never met, who have helped to make our dream of Jay's transplant just a little bit closer to reality. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday! Enjoy your loved ones!
We endured our first 'dry run' last Monday. It was very disappointing but informational and now we know what to expect when Jay's liver does finally come!!
Please take the time to share our fundraising page with your family and friends during this holiday season. We have a long way to go to reach the goal of $30,000.
Everyone please be safe and healthy!! Love to all http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
As you are gathering with your family and loved ones, count your personal blessings. I know we will be!!!
We are still far from the goal we need to reach to help ensure Jay's recovery once his transplant takes place. Please consider becoming a supporter or donor and help us reach our campaign goal on #Fundly! You can donate as much or little as you want. Check it out: http://fundly.com/giveagiftoflife
