I am raising money for a Mission Trip to Thailand! Where I will help at Chiang Mai University’s Forest Restoration and Research Unit, teach English to children, and volunteer at an Elephant Conservation!
I have been given the opportunity to volunteer in Thailand this upcoming summer with Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE Volunteers). I am extremely excited to have the chance to give back to the world through GIVE and use this experience to continue helping throughout my life!
GIVE focuses on sustainable community development in low-income communities by assisting and empowering the local population. I will be directly involved in the following volunteer projects: helping at Chiang Mai University’s Forest Restoration and Research Unit by tending to reforestation plots, teaching English to children, and helping at an Elephant Conservation by bathing elephants in the river and feeding them healthy herbal supplements.
This cause is important to me because as a volunteer, I have the opportunity to teach English in rural schools that do not have access to native speaking English teachers. As some of you may know, I am working towards becoming an elementary school teacher. I believe that this opportunity will give me a unique experience on what it is like to teach.
However, in order for me to take this journey to Thailand I must raise my own funds. The trip in total is going to cost $2,895. I am asking for donations of any size from family and friends. If you are able to donate, I would be extremely grateful!
