Ahmad's mother left him in an empty house when he was just a newborn baby. At that time, Ahmad's mother was an Indonesian migrant worker who worked illegally in Malaysia. Shortly after, she was arrested by the police and deported. However, she never looked for her baby. Ahmad was left alone in Malaysia with a serious health condition.
For two years, Ahmad underwent treatment at the state hospital University Malaya Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Medicines were given to him so that he could survive until the surgery. Based on the doctor’s diagnosis, Ahmad was suffering from Congenital Heart Disease Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a heart defect where there is a hole in one or all parts of the heart. The doctor even scheduled heart surgery for him. Sadly, instead of undergoing the surgery, Ahmad was also deported to Indonesia by the Malaysian authorities.
Ahmad was just two years old when he was deported back to Indonesia. The doctor who treated him also recommended that he undergo surgery as soon as he arrived in Indonesia. Unfortunately, after two years, nothing has changed. Ahmad's condition is now getting worse and more worrying.
In the latest examination, the oxygen saturation in Ahmad's body was 60% - 70%. Normal oxygen levels should be around 94% - 99%. This condition can cause fatal damage to organs such as brain damage and heart failure.Ahmad's poor condition has encouraged the Peduli Anak Foundation to help him get proper treatment.
