Good Morning, My name is Nakeshia Shannon, and I'm a photographer here in the Upstate. There's a need within our community, and I can fill it, but I would love the support from other businesses and individuals also.
My name is Nakeshia Shannon, and I'm a photographer here in the Upstate. There's a need within our community, and I can fill it, but I would love the support from other businesses and individuals in the community.
Because of COVID, many families have to, unfortunately, pick and choose what they can do for their families. There are Seniors in High School who can't afford or participate in Creative or individualized Senior Portraits. They're working twice as hard to obtain scholarships despite some activities that support those scholarships that haven't be available to them.
As a photographer, I can take care of the portraits with no issue, but I want to do more. I would love to purchase Bullet Journals as a gift to them, but allow those who have donated towards the journals to write a short inspirational message and share a quote or Bible verse on the journal's inside cover. When the students open it, they know they have the support of their community members.
I'm unsure how many students will sign up, but I'd love to start getting things in place to truly make this memorable amongst a challenging situation none of us expected.
The students are volunteers or a part of the staff and leadership program at their local YMCA who are still working despite covid and pushing towards college to follow their dreams.
I've already got an open door at a business called 'Archer & Olive; they're where I have purchased my bullet journals for the past 4-5 years, and I've formed a fun and open relationship with the owner of the company. They're willing to give me the Journals at a discounted wholesale price.
I've also got an interior designer willing to help create a set and a makeup artist, and some hairstylists ready to style hair for the students.
