I am raising money for travel funds as I volunteer in Ireland, and then Baton Rouge, with the Louisiana Flood Recovery Project. Donations go towards the cost of food, transportation, hostels, and recreational activities.
I am currently in Callan, Ireland; volunteering at a recently opened and family owned cafe. I have been here since mid September working as a: cook, front of house/barista, and general maintenance. I will soon be leaving for Dublin to assist a family in the renovation of their new home. At the end of November I will be flying back to the United States to join the All Hands Organization in Baton Rouge for the month of December; as a part of their Louisiana Flood Recovery Project. The focus being on repairing homes devestated during the floods. At this stage in the project the work will include: muck and guts, installing drywall and insulation, mold sanitation, and finish carpentry: painting, flooring, doors, trim, cabinets, and bathroom fixtures. Depending on demand for volunteers and my own personal obligations, I may continue onto Disaster Relief in Texas or Florida. Afterwards I would like to return home to see family, friends, and really settle for the first time in a year and a half.
Your donations will Fund my:
Continuing travels and volunteer work in Ireland for the month of November.
Volunteer work with the All Hands Organizations Louisiana Flood Recovery Project in December and potentially future disaster relief projects in early 2018.
My eventual return home. Oregon.
As well as: food, transportation (flights, public transport, taxis), hostels, travel insurance, and the occasional recreational activities.
