More Info

Gerry has helped so many people in Ojai and beyond. He might literally have a heart of gold... we aren't sure.

His capacity to listen and help is only matched by his past life experiences. How far we have gone down certain paths only shines the light for others to find refuge and solace. Gerry is an Ojai treasure, never wanting recognition or applause. He stays way from the spotlight, yet helps many on a DAILY BASIS. His light is so bright he doesn't need a spotlight on him.

He just got word of having to move from his rental home of TWELVE YEARS. Let's make this move as easeful as possible: helping him with moving and packing costs, storage if needed (not preferred), a moving truck, help unloading into his new home (location TBD). Please reach out if you know of a place for him that is reasonably priced.

Words from Gerry: "I haven't done this yet, but it's time. I have lived in my current home for about twelve years, and had hoped it would be my last move. The landlord I initially rented from has sold the two-duplex property, and the new owner is getting ready to renovate, which means I have to vacate, and soon, soon, soon. The rent here has been low, but the housing is old and has not been improved in quite a few years. Not since I have been here. So now, I'm looking for a place to live.

I am a 70 year old non-service connected disabled veteran, living on Social Security and a small part-time job. No, alcohol or drugs, non-smoker, no pets, quiet and private. I can do some light property maintenance. 42 year Ojai resident.

I have applied for senior housing at Whispering Oaks, and my application has been accepted. I received a notice advising me that the next step will be an interview, but I have not yet received notice of when that might be, only the advice to not start packing yet.

I am open to anything at this point, but cannot afford to compete with people who want to relocate to Ojai and are willing to pay exorbitant rents to get their foot in the door here. Any help in finding a new nest is more than welcome. Thank you."
