Gateway College Prep depends on our generous supporters to help make up the gap in funding we experience in comparison to a regular ISD. This Giving Tuesday, we're asking for donations to our Needs List.
Unlike traditional public independent school districts (ISDs), public charter schools like Gateway Prep do not receive any local tax revenue, have no taxing authority, and receive minimal state aid to cover the cost of buildings and facilities, as well as other "extras" outside the typical classroom experience. Our charitable fundraising efforts help to bridge this gap to provide our students with the quality, college prep education they're looking for. This Giving Tuesday, we're asking for donations to our Needs List. The items on our Needs List are not included in our yearly budget, so we need your help! Items such as robotics equipment, a secure bus barn, and baseball/softball field seating greatly increase our students' educational experience.
