Her death was sudden as none of us were expecting it. She had been depressed now for almost a year since her boyfriend had committed suicide. She also was under enormous stress with my stepmom (her mom) having a lot of medical issues and she was the only one around to truly help deal with it. Julia was my stepmother's miracle baby-the one she never thought she would have because she had been told she could not have kids. To say she was spoiled is understating it but as an adult, I understand why Mom was so protective. As an adult Julia seemed lost and unsure of her way. She spiraled down into drugs and drinking for too many years. It seemed however that she had turned things around and was on her way when the setbacks started. The last time I saw Julia was in May before her 36th birthday. My other sister, her fiance, and my nephew went out to San Diego to see our parents and Julia. She was working and seemed to be doing okay after her loss. We went out to Seaport Village before her shift started with the rest of the family. When she had to go to work, we waved goodbye. Had I know it was going to be the last time, I would have given her a hug and I love you. I am doing this gofundme to help pay for the expenses for my older sister Pam, my nephew, and I to go out to San Diego to help my Mom and Dad cope. We need to have a hotel room since there is not enough space over at Mom and Dad's as well as some gas money to pay for the car trip. Anything you donate is appreciated. Give your family hugs. May you always have a chance to say that goodbye.
