Good day,
My name is Fitzroy Thompson-Smith my husband and I Jason Smith recently purchased a piece of land located at 10595 Erie Road, Irving NY 14081 with the hopes of building a family home for ourselves and our 12-year-old son Santino Smith.
It has been about 4 years since we have been trying tirelessly to secure a loan to build a basic 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom but only receive numerous rejection due to lack of credit history, low credit score, not enough income to secure a construction loan.
I recently completed my master’s degree from St. Francis College Brooklyn and will be walking Thursday May 20, 2021 for commencement. My hopes and desire are to become an educator with plans of completing a PhD program at University at Buffalo in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning. I was committed and focused on completing my courses. It was important for me to complete this because it allowed me to re-evaluate my professional ethical behavior. Rebuilding back core values of being responsible, valuing trust, honesty, integrity.
I have been offered a position with a Non Profit Agency working as a Client Engagement Specialist, my role and responsibilities are conducting outreach to re-engage clients who has been lost to care, their Care Manager, Primary Care Providers. I have been tasked only to conduct home visit, make phone calls. Once I contact client, I connect the client with their Care Manager for follow up.
I have sought help from Habitat for Humanity Buffalo but have not been able to receive and support or referrals. It has been a tireless pursuit to receive any help/assistance in creating a home. I do have some money saved but I need assistance of any kind whether through materials, Labor support or funds in helping to make a home.
I understand that we are just coming out of a Health Crisis and that they are not too many opportunities at this moment, but I would be grateful for any help or support.
