I developed stage 4 cancer and I'm currently going through my treatments. One of the biggest unexpected results outside of medical is the other financial costs. Keeping up with house payments, bills, day to day needs
I had a chemo port surgical installed to hopefully get a better direct flow of chemo to a more direct area and to hopefully decrease some of the negative effects that are caused by the treatments weakening my veins.
It is a small, implantable reservoir with a thin silicone tube that attaches to a vein. The main advantage of this vein-access device is that chemotherapy medications can be delivered directly into the port rather than a vein, eliminating the need for so many needle sticks.
