Priya Haji, beloved mother, irreplaceable friend and accomplished social entrepreneur, passed away July 14th at age 44. This fund is to contribute to the support of her children.
This site was started by friends of Priya, who were inspired by her life and wanted to honor her memory.
More important, we wanted to ensure the stable future of her two children, Omi and Zen, who will have to grow up without the warmth and financial security she could have provided. Together we can give back to her children at least a measure of the love and service that Priya gave so generously to the world.
Whether the money goes for college tuition down the road or more immediate expenses short-term, the story of this community rallying behind their mother's memory will testify about who she was in the world and her enormous contribution to making it a better place.
Thank you for your donation and please check back for updates on the upcoming memorial service.

More details on the event can be found at https://www.facebook.com/events/594561887328770/?ref=22
The family has also set up an Facebook page (Priya Haji Memorial), and a virtual memorial (email@example.com) where people can contribute photos, videos, thoughts, prayers and any other material they want to share. We will compile a selection of these submissions for the celebration of her life on Saturday July 19th and also as a way to keep her memory alive and strong for Zen and Omi in the years to come.
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from everyone whose lives were touched by Priya. Many of you have reached out inquiring about how to support the family, especially the children.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please contribute to this fund for Zen and Omi’s educations, or make donations to two organizations that will continue to enhance Priya’s efforts of making the world a better place by reducing economic disparities - Free at Last and the American Indian Foundation.
With love, gratitude, great sadness but also joy for the amazing woman and mother she was, now resting peacefully,
Karim, Asha & Amina
