This sweet little boy contracted a cold around Christmas. From there, it progressed into Croup, and then into severe Pneumonia. Him and his family are in need of help for medical/living expenses in these trying times!

This sweet little boy contracted a cold around Christmas. From there, the cold turned into Croup, which then turned to severe Pneumonia. After being dismissed multiple times by the first doctor in charge of his care without much of an answer other than a "viral cold," the family took Cobyn for a second opinion. It was obvious to the second doctor that there was something seriously wrong and, upon examination, found fluid in Cobyn's lungs. The doctor was able to drain a bit of the fluid off before ordering him to be medically flown to Kansas City.
Once in Kansas City, Cobyn was sedated, hooked up to an IV, a ventilator, a chest tube in his right side, and a central line in his neck. A feeding tube was later added. Cobyn also received a blood transfusion. His situation is worse than anyone originally thought and it has been found that he has MSSA and the bacteria is deteriorating one of his lungs. As of now, the family is looking toward at least a month in the Kansas City hospital, hours away from home and their other children.
We are asking anyone and everyone to please contribute in anyway that they can to help the Ashford family in this trying time. As most know too well, the cost of living, travel, and medical expenses can become outrageous, especially when a job is hours away. All help is greatly appreciated as are any words of encouragement!
