Community Connections is currently accepting donations to ensure that we can continue to offer our unique programs for children and adolescents with special needs free of charge to the families we serve.
Community Connections is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families. Many children with special needs live in a cycle of school and therapy with little opportunity for extra-curricular activity. At the same time, families of children who are diagnosed with disabilities often lack a support network. Community Connections was established in 2005 when Todd and Amy Denton (owners of Pediatrics Plus Therapy Services) and some of their staff saw that many children with disabilities did not have the opportunity to play sports and participate in the arts like their typically developing siblings and peers. From this need, Community Connections was created to provide extra-curricular activities for children with disabilities and support for their families.
Community Connections is already serving over 600 children and their families per year in Central Arkansas, where the organization was first established. Community Connections is thrilled to be expanding into Texas to create new recreational activities and develop a support system for the children and families of North Texas.
This summer, we have been so excited to offer an theatre camp, sports clinic, and art camp for children and teens with special needs. Our goal is to be able to offer even more programs for these kids and their families in order to meet the recreational programming needs of the community of children and teens with special needs.
