Shelters have limited funding and resources to offer supplies to fosters, so 100% of money raised will be used towards the care of foster animals through the purchase of food, bedding, toys, and medication.
If you know me at all, you know that I’ve had a passion for helping animals ever since I was a little girl. When I was younger, this took the form of taking in stray dogs (and in some lucky cases, convincing my parents to keep them), volunteering at animal shelters, and walking the neighborhood dogs.
In recent years, I have channeled that passion into fostering animals for a variety of local animal shelters and rescues. For those that aren’t familiar with the process, fostering is when you provide a temporary home and care for a shelter animal until it can be adopted into a permanent home. Depending on the animal’s needs, this time can look very different. In some cases, the animal needs socialization work because they were a stray and have never been around people they can trust. Some animals just become extremely afraid and stressed out in the shelter environment, making them appear unadoptable when in reality they just need away from the chaos. In other cases, the animal requires medical attention and needs a calm home environment to recover. Whatever the reason, fostering an animal means they get out of the loud and overwhelming shelter environment and into a loving home where they can get the one-on-one care and attention they need. And with that animal in a foster home, the shelter has extra space to take on a new animal in need, so two lives are ultimately impacted.
Sadly, many shelters have limited funding and resources to offer supplies to their foster families. Instead, they rely on generous donations and the good-will of the fosters themselves to cover the expenses that come with raising an animal. So today I’m asking for your support in raising funds to help support the foster animals that I work with. I have linked a Fundly account below where you can securely donate. ALL funds raised will go directly towards animal care, through the purchase of food, crates, toys, and medication. Any amount you can offer is greatly appreciated and will make a huge impact in these animals’ lives!
