Percy Grainger thought his harmonium (aka a reed organ or a pedal organ--a keyboard controlled by bellows that sucks air through metal reeds) was an essential aid to composing. He kept one in his living room.
We've been sprucing up Percy Grainger's house at 7 Cromwell Place, White Plains, New York. Along the way, we've held several concerts and are planning another concert on May 3, 2020--thanks Vincent Lionti and Richard Masters! We'd love to add the harmonium to that concert, but we have to get it fixed first. Right now, the bellows are broken--so no sound is possible. Help us to get the harmonium up, running, and tuned to A440 so we can turn Percy's living room into one of the most unique concert venues anywhere!
