First Aid Kits for Ukraine

From Steve Palmer

Thanks to all of you, I went in April, and am returning in June. All funds were used for, and will continue to be used to purchase IFAK (individual first aid kits) and medical supplies. Your efforts saved lives.

Update #3

Hi Everyone
Thank you all so much for your support both financially and emotionally. We have shut down fundraising on this page for the time being. In addition to this page we have raised a total of about $45,000 for this cause. Steve is making another trip this week, bringing another 10 bags of supplies. Supplies this time have been gathered based on specific requests of those he met on the first trip. These supplies include, more tourniquets, first aid kits, clotting dressings, steri strips, hemostat clamps, fracture splints, dressings, uniforms, and more.
The support we have received has been overwhelming and so appreciated. At this time we have just about reached our limits on what we can do. We will be taking a break from being so hands on in this cause to focus some time to our regular jobs and our two young children. As well as reflect on some of the recent tragedies in our own country.
Thank you
Steve, Steph, Ellie, Andi

Update #2

Hi Everyone. First, I want to say sorry for not updating sooner. We have had a lot going on since the last update and have focused on getting the supplies to Ukraine, while still trying to manage our everyday day to day with our own young kids.
With the help of donors, neighbors, friends, and family we were able to pack 9 hockey bags of medical supplies, including tourniquets, IFAK kits, gauze, over the counter medications, PPE, tactical equipment, and more. Steve took the bags as luggage in order to ensure they got there and where they needed to be. Delta airlines stepped up and covered the baggage fees.
Steve has been traveling throughout Ukraine (staying safe and in contact with us throughout his trip so far) delivering the supplies.

Some updates Steve has been able to quickly share during our times of communication.

- one soldier was inured in the 2014 Russian invasion and no qualified to fight in the army, however he still volunteered and is fighting on his own with other civilians so many supplies don't make it down the list that far

- He is working with contacts in Ukraine as well as US to try to help close the supply chain loop to help coordinate delivery of goods as as source more goods

- They need everything from SUVs and drones to boots to helmets and everything in between.

- He met with a medic who only has two kelly clamps (used to help control bleeding in a variety of uses) for 100 soldiers

- helped purchase bullet proof vests for a group of soldiers who had none

- some of the bags we brought over had American Flags on them, they often sewed our flag together with their flag

These are just a few tid bits of some of the updates I am sure he has since being there. Once he is home and settled we will update more on the trip and positive impact you have all helped make happen. We are continuing to fundraise at this time with plans to supply bleeding control kits, decompression needles, and chest seals among other needed supplies.

Update #1

Hi Everyone - Thank you so much for your generosity and support! This pallet contains 200lbs of medical supplies, which will be shipped this weekend to Hungry. Also gathering supplies from single donations, and purchasing through companies such as "My Medic" in Utah that gave me a 40% discount on their IFAK kits. I can't thank you enough!
