Jodi Huisentruit was a morning news anchor for KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa when she was abducted on June 27, 1995. She was on her way to work in the early morning hours and was taken from the parking lot of her apartment complex. Some people heard screams. Some people think they saw a vehicle or two. For years, stories have changed and thousands of leads have been followed up.
There's never been a suspect named in her case. In 2002, two newsmen started a new search for her, hoping to bring a fresh pair of eyes to a case that was on the brink of going cold. Nearly a decade later, Josh Benson and Gary Peterson continue the search for Jodi by following up leads, interview those who knew her and comparing notes and facts from the past 16 years. All of their work has been chronicled on their website dedicated to the search for Jodi: FindJodi.com. It contains the most recent updates in her case.
The premise of FindJodi.com is very simple: Find Jodi by not allowing her case to go cold.
In order to travel the Midwest, follow up leads, process paperwork, obtain records and maintain the website, the FindJodi team has incurred a great expense.
The team has decided Fundly is a great source to help raise necessary funds to help lessen the financial burden in finding out what happened to Jodi.
Thank you to all who have taken the time to learn about Jodi's case. And our sincerest appreciation goes out to those who can spare a few bucks to help the cause.
Not only will you be aiding Josh and Gary's un-ending effort to find out what happened to Jodi, you'll help bring the family much-needed closure to a horrible nightmare.
God Bless.

Former News Director Gary Peterson and news anchor Josh Benson worked together at KAAL-TV in 2002. Gary and Josh had a similar interest in missing person cases. They both saw an opportunity to work on one of the biggest missing person cases in the midwest: the disappearance of Mason City, Iowa's KIMT-TV news anchor Jodi Huisentruit.
The website FindJodi.com was launched in 2003 after the pair realized the need a central location to store all of the information they had compiled in the case. The website gained popularity years after - as many people seeking information about Jodi’s disappearance would make it a daily stop to read forum posts and new articles related to her case.
In the last decade, Gary and Josh have interviewed hundreds of people, traveled thousands of miles to follow-up leads and compiled a massive collection of information and video related to Jodi and her case. They have worked with law enforcement, private investigators, Jodi’s friends and family and other members of the public in an attempt to learn more about who Jodi was and what may have happened to her.
In October of 2011, FindJodi.com, Inc. was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in an attempt to continue to educate the public about Jodi’s case as well as other missing persons. FindJodi.com, Inc. operates strictly on the team’s personal funding and donations. 100% of all proceeds go to expenses. Thanks for your support. Your help will allow FindJodi.com, Inc. continue their search for Jodi.
