Great local bands will rock this gorgeous coastal route and twice as many real stages than ever seen on the roads will line the ten mile course! This is a people’s race and everyone’s invited to join the party and have some serious fun. This is also a certified athletic competition and there are requirements and guidelines to follow. Race Weekend Expo
The U-T California 10/20 will have a two day expo race weekend where all registered participants are required to attend to pick up their packets (race bib, shirt, goodie bag). Local, Regional and National vendors will be onsite displaying and selling athletic related products. U-T Cal 10/20 Fundraise-for-Entry qaulifying participants will be able to register and pick up their fundaiser perks at the exclusive Fight Club Village at the expo.

North County San Diego Course (Del Mar to Encinitas coast loop)
Our ten mile coastal course is fast and beautiful! Wide and fully closed roads will prevail on the USATF certified course. No running in tight packs right next to traffic at the U-T California 10/20! Stages every half mile, seven well stocked water stations, 10 cheerleader teams and premium medical support will be on course. Mile markers and time clocks at every mile with 5K signs too. Porta-potties will be plentiful and visible and excellent SAG support will be provided. Overall event operations will be professional and precise. Course Turn by Turn Start/Finish Area
The Start and Finish lines are located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, home of the San Diego County Fair and the beautiful Del Mar Race Track. Thousands of world famous events have been staged here over the years and the U-T California 10/20 is proud to be one of them. Where “the turf meets the surf” is the perfect place to party like a rock star after the race. The picture to the left includes the start area, the finish area, the event parking lots and virtually the entire race course if you look left in to the distance up the coast. Party The Start will be organized and tight, the finish line will be a party! After the elite athletes blaze to the finish tape and the rest follow up, our headliner act will hit the main stage. Runners and spectators will be rocking out to the headliner concert at approximately 10:30 AM. The finish area will feature a gigantic group reunion space and a monster beer garden! All participants are welcome here and spectators can partake too. With awesome views of the main stage and totally radical refreshments, it’s the perfect way to wrap up the U-T California 10/20 day. 2014 Course Turn by Turn
You must be able to complete the ten mile distance in 3 hours. You must be at least twelve years old to participate. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions. Race numbers are required to participate. You must show photo ID to pick up your race packet and bib number. You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge of the ten mile distance. Traffic and safety regulations prohibit early starts. Early starters will be eliminated from the Official Results. No coaches, bikes, in-line skates, baby joggers or dogs will be allowed on the course. iPods or other in-your-ear musical devises are strongly discouraged – you definitely won’t need them Spectator safety is important to the U-T California 10/20 and some areas of the course are not suitable for race viewing. Please check our final race information for best and safest viewing areas. Cancellations Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Sorry, no exceptions. If you are registered and unable to participate, we will gladly mail your race technical shirt to you. Inform us of your cancellation at info@CAL1020.com. Shirt requests must be made prior to the event.
What is the minimum requirement to FUNDRAISE-FOR-ENTRY for the U-T California 10/20?
There is a $250 minimum fundraising requirement for all fundraise-for-entry participants. This includes your U-T California 10/20 race entry. Upon completing the minimum fundraising goal of $250, each participant will receive final registration instructions and a free race entry comp code.
What if I already registered through the official race webiste and paid my registration fee?
If you register to fundraise-for-entry after completing the normal race registration and you meet the minimum fundraising goal of $250, you will have the option to receive a refund upon request from the U-T California 10/20 within two weeks after the race. You must notify the U-T Foundation Fundraise-For-Entry to Cal 10/20 via email at firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on February 14, 2014. If we do not receive notification, the race registration fees that you paid prior to signing up for the the fundraise-for-entry program will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
When is the deadline to meet the $250 minimum FUNDRAISE-FOR-ENTRY requirement?
Each participant must meet the fundraising requirement by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. Participants must agree to meet the minimum fundraising requirement in order to qualify for a complimentary race entry. If the fundraising minimum is not met by this deadline, participants will be asked to enter a personal donation for the $250 or the remaining portion in order to meet the balance of $250. Meeting the fundraising minimum by this date allows us to process your registration and fundraiser benefits in a timely fashion in preparation for the event.
What if I don't meet the $250 minimum FUNDRAISE-FOR-ENTRY requirement by the deadline?
If you don't mee the $250 minimum requirement by the deadline, you will not receive the complimentary race entry or the fundraise-for-entry benefits. Any funds raised by you will still benefit the American Cancer Society. If you still want to register for the race, you can complete standard registration at the official race website (www.cal1020.com).
When is the deadline to register for the U-T California 10/20 once I receive my complimentary race entry code?
Upon receiving your complimentary race entry code, you must complete your race registration at the official race website (www.cal1020.com) by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014.
Why is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
The minimum fundraising requirement is set to help reach our U-T Foundation goal to support the American Cancer Society. With your help and the help of many others, we can fight cancer. Expected cuts in federal research funding put us at risk of losing this generation’s best young scientists to other careers. Every penny donated after the U-T Foundation fundraise-for-entry administrative fees will go directly to the American Cancer Society to help sustain and grow the programs that can continue to play a role in keeping those brilliant minds focused on beating cancer.
Are donations made by me or others who contribute to my fundraise-for-entry campaign tax-deductible?
Yes, all donations made towards the U-T Foundation fundraise-for-entry program are tax-deductible. Receipts for donations will be provided via email to donors who contribute via the U-T Foundation Fundraise-for-Entry to Cal 10/20 program pages.
