In these uncertain times, it makes one think of what each of us can do to help those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A few days ago, a friend of mine posted a question on his IG stories asking his followers to “imagine if your followers can donate even 25 dollars each? Imagine the amount of money you can raise to help…”
And, it hit me.
EVERYONE is online... especially now.
Everyone is fast at pressing the LIKE button; fast at POSTING photos; so fast in COMMENTING on pages and even BUYING games on app stores. But, how can we harness all of this into something more concrete that can help our country overcome this global health emergency?
So, to my 700,000+ followers, let me refer this question to you: imagine how much we can raise if each and every one of us can donate 100$, 50$, or even 25$ What is 25$? This amount can make a huge difference no matter how small it may be.
Our frontline health workers are risking their lives for us every single day, so let’s give back to them. The least we can do is help protect their lives too.
I am asking each of you to help us raise funds so we can provide much needed supplies (e.g. masks, PPEs, alcohol sanitizers) to local hospitals that are in most need in Metro Manila. Instead of feeling frustrated and helpless, I want to use this platform to reach out to you and send a plea to not just like this message, but to come together and do what we can to help. Let us do something about this...NOW.
We have set-up this online fundraising account to buy and allocate much needed supplies for several hospitals we are reaching out to in Africa. We will build out this list as we hear back from others. Any amount you can give will go a long way. If we can at least hit 100,000 dollars, we can help a hospital in africa where basic PPE is very expensive.
We will also update this page to let you know where your donations are being allocated in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Burundi, and which hospitals will receive the supplies. Transparency is important to us so that you can track where your contributions are going and each dollar will be accounted for.
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
