We are taking our National Junior Honor Society members to attend a field trip to participate in the Disneyland YES program in, the area of leadership. We are going in May 2018.
Disney theme parks offer an amazing opportunity to students to learn more about the philosophies and the science behind their success. This year we are taking the KMS NJHS students to learn more about the leadership modeled by Walt Disney. Students will identify their future goals and learn ways to believe in their dreams and create plans to make it happen. We have done this program in the past and the feedback from students have demonstrated that what they learned at the YES program has stuck with them throughout their education.
Kingman Arizona is small community in the Northwest region of the state. We have a lower than average state graduation rate and despite many amazing teachers, lower school grades as well. Most of the students have traveled no further than the largest nearby communities of Las Vegas or Phoenix where expanded health care is available.
The students who have been selected to go on this trip have demonstrated character above and beyond to be inducted as a Nation Junior Honor Society Member. They must maintain a 3.0 GPA as well. I am so excited to offer this opportunity to these students! I hope this opportunity expands their horizons and opens them up to the potential they may not otherwise be exposed to in our community.
