As a small business owner and physician assistant, we tried to think of a way to best offer our help. Yesterday, we delivered pizza and calzones to the healthcare workers at the Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Department to show our appreciation. Soon after, customers began reaching out to ask if they could show their support by having Lou Umberto’s deliver more food and to other places. That’s when we thought of Feed the Front Lines. Although we initially intended to start a non-profit, this platform became the fastest way to roll out our idea as the situation surrounding the coronavirus quickly evolves.
Through Feed the Front Lines, we are attempting to bring both of our (very different) professions together to benefit as many as possible. We have started coordinating with contacts who are considered essential personnel working in fire departments, hospitals, and government. Our next scheduled donation will be 4/1 to the Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Department. If you are considered essential personnel or know someone who is, please contact us by email listed below. We would love to coordinate with more than just those that we know personally. We appreciate all your donations during this time to best assist those on the front lines!
If this fund continues to build, we hope to extend it to other small businesses and offer a helping hand.
