The Evans Albert Spear Memorial Scholarship of $5,000 is given each year to a Yarmouth High School senior who is looking to further their education and best exemplifies the qualities that made Evans so special.
Evans Spear died of Hodgkins Lymphoma on May 24th of 2004 after a long and courageous battle. He was an All-American lacrosse player, an All-State hockey player, a lobsterman and a cherished member of the Yarmouth Community.
Founded in 2004, the Evans Albert Spear Memorial Scholarship Fund, provides a $5,000 each year to a Yarmouth High School senior looking to further their education. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a hard worker, a leader and team player, exemplifies clipper pride and many of the other characteristics that made Evans so special.
