Evangelism in Thailand

From Vitchayaporn Ruttanangkoon

Our team want to share a passion for Thai people to hear the Gospel. Thailand has over 65 million people who don’t know the Lord. We decided to make a film as a way to share the Gospel. Our goal is that over 1 million.

The Gospel first was shared in Thailand in 1837, over 180 years ago. In 2021, Thailand has an estimated 505,300 Christians. When compared to Thailand’s total population of 65 million people, Thai Christians make up less than 1% of the country.

The vast majority of Thai people are Buddhist and many believe in ghosts, spirits and miracles. It can be said that Thai people are trapped by the fear of evil spirits, which leads to various problems plaguing Thai society, including family issues, orphaned children, child sex workers, drugs, and sexual abuse.

Truly, the Gospel is good news for the 65+ million Thais who don’t know the Lord yet. One of the most effective ways to introduce the Gospel in today’s world is through creative media resources, often shared on social media. A proven method is to take Gospel themes and create interesting and real-life stories that people can relate to.

Our film, ‘Master of Lies’, exposes Satan’s evil plans to trick, deceive and control Thai people. In contrast, the film also reveals God’s good purposes for Thai people. Our goal is that over 1 million people would view our film and, Lord willing, over 1,000 people might come to faith through it.

We have a budget of $15,000 USD. This would cover the rental of quality equipment, like video cameras, lenses, microphones and lighting, as well as the visual and sound editing and production. This also includes the expenses for the production team and actors, paying them a fair wage, but below the current market rate.

Thank you so much for supporting the production of our film, “Master of Lies”. We hope that each supporter of this project would also be blessed in return. Please pray for this project to be successful and that it would lead many Thais to faith in Jesus.
