"So far, college has been a great experience. I have gotten to know many people from different parts of the country. College has allowed me to use communication skills, and learn how to make connections with the new people that I meet. The scholarship was a big help for me. It was used on school books, supplies, and numerous trips to Walmart. This scholarship allowed my family and I, a small break from financial worries." - Moneesha, 209 Together awardee

209 Together has given out 40 scholarships to 30 individuals since 2016, thanks to dozens of individuals, community organizations and businesses in the 10 towns of Proviso Township who have contributed to our local scholars.

Our scholarships are unique as there are 2 programs; one for those with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and one for graduates with GPA of 2.0 or higher. Many of the students at District 209 have both work and family responsibilities in addition to  their education, and some have experienced major hardships. That's why we support students that have consistently excelled, as well as those who have overcome adversity in order to graduate and get accepted to college.

We believe that if you have made the effort to graduate and want to go to college, money should not be the factor to prevent you from going!

There are so many amazing scholars graduating from Proviso East, Proviso West and PMSA that motivate us to  maintain and even grow this program. With your help we can do give out even more scholarships in 2020! Please give a tax-deductible donation before the end of this year to support these scholarships!
