Your donation will help create safe spaces of healing for traumatized individuals who have experienced childhood trauma and abuse. Helping survivors through peer-led groups, classes, conferences and community education.
I just couldn’t accept the silence, the lack of education and support, the blame put on survivors of this crime, and so began not only my healing journey but the beginnings of EmpowerSurvivors.” - Elizabeth Sullivan
EmpowerSurvivors was created and founded by Elizabeth Sullivan in 2014. It was during her healing journey that she realized survivors needed an organization that would create safe spaces of healing and support for survivors, provide resources and educate survivors so they could better understand their healing journey and how the child abuse that was done to them, so many years ago, could manifest itself into every fiber of their being.
Today, EmpowerSurvivors is a peer-led 501c3 non-profit organization based in Stillwater, MN and run and operated by adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and trauma.
EmpowerSurvivors support survivors locally, nationally and worldwide. We believe in uniting our voices, supporting survivors on their healing journeys, educating communities and reducing the adverse childhood experiences that affect not only the survivor but their families, society, and institutions.
To date, EmpowerSurvivors has been a source of support to roughly 2,847 survivors of child abuse who have found support through EmpowerSurvivors online groups, in-person peer support groups, classes, and annual conferences.
Today, you too can make a difference! Your donation will go directly to survivors and aid in prevention and education. With 1 out of 4 girls and 1 out of 6 boys being sexually abused by the age of 18 it is more important than ever that we continue this important work.
