Emotional Support Animal Needs Help

Emotional Support Animal Needs Help

From Craigh Barboza

I need to raise money for our loving pet, Chewbacca, 3, who's been very sick and was admitted to vet. We are in debt so we can't afford the vet bills.

Update #2

Chewie has been making progress and his doctor said that we can pick him up today and continue his treatment at home, with medicine and a bland diet. We're hoping he continues to recover. I asked them to shave as much as they could off our bill but it's still above $4,000.

More Info

Chewie might have ingested something dangerous on one of our daily walks and he hasn’t been able to hold anything down (including water). It’s been a stressful stretch of 5 hospital visits in almost as many days.

Chewie is one of the sweetest dogs you could meet. He brings lots of warmth and joy to his family and is officially designated an emotional support animal. He loves to sit with you and keep you company, take long walks and play catch. (If he were human he would be an excellent centerfielder or goalie.)

We would appreciate any help you can provide (a dime, a dollar). The fund will be used for our vet bills and medicine. Although I cannot afford the vet bills I did not want to give up on Chewie because I know how devastating it would be to my kids and wife. Thank you.

Update #1

We just learned that Chewie has a severe case of pancreatitis and his stomach is dilated. They need to keep him hospitalized for several days so he can be treated aggressively.
