Emily Pikuet Memorial Fund for the Mary Cariola Center

I established the Emily Pikuet Memorial fund as an expression of support for recent Fisher graduate (2016), Abbey Pikuet, as she and her family face their first holiday season without Emily. 

I had the honor of meeting Emily on commencement day (2016) at Abbey’s home.  Although Abbey had shared many stories about Emily in class, nothing could have prepared me for the moment we met.  As I walked into the Pikuet’s backyard, someone was offering a toast to the graduates, but in the midst of the celebration, a tiny yet powerful force   emerged from the crowd.  It seemed as though she had materialized in front of my eyes!  I stood there looking down at Emily's tiny figure while trying to process an onslaught of feelings and thoughts  I can only describe the experience as an overwhelming mixture  of joy, curiosity, mischief, innocence and love. Adding to the impact of this moment was the realization that I was in the company of a family whose love for this child was so immense as to be palpable.

Emily is gone now. Please support her family while they struggle to get through their first Christmas season without her by donating to the charity of their choice.
