Hello, I am leading a humanitarian mission to bring aid and enrichment to Syrian refugees affected by the recent earthquake and over a decade of war. Help me bring joy, hope, and solidarity to those who need it most.
A boy named Zakariya who was displaced by the earthquake and now lives with an aunt and cousins. We asked what he wished for, and he said a bike, so we delivered. Zade is getting ready for delivery in this pic.
I have participated in several humanitarian missions to bring aid, love, and solidarity to Syrian refugees along Syria's border with Jordan and Turkey. The last mission that I led was to Southern Turkey in February of 2020, just weeks before COVID swept across the globe and changed all of our lives. This summer, I am determined to get back to where my heart is and lead a small US based team to work with Syrian refugees. With your help, over the span of a week, we will provide enrichment activities (such as arts and crafts, music, and sports) to Syrian refugee children and deliver some basic necessities to refugee families through our trusted partners on the ground, such as INARA, Olive Branch, and Kids Paradise. Finally, we will check in on the dozen refugee families that have been sponsored by US families through Molham Volunteering Team since my last mission in 2020.
Your donations to this campaign will enable us to provide basic needs (food, money, blankets) to refugee families, purchase supplies for workshops we will run, to assemble the ground team in Turkey, cover costs of transportation from camp to camp and city to city. Your donations will ensure that you receive updates on the trip. In addition, your donations will help make it possible for some younger, next generation humanitarians to join the team, by offsetting some of the substantial costs of travel and lodging.
With Hope and Gratitude,
We are back from our mission. It was a big success because of you. You are the ones that made it possible. My daughter Fay, nephew Zade, and I went to community centers and camps for refugees and displaced people throughout Southern Turkey. We funded and facilitated activities with children including art, music, and soccer. We distributed thousands of dollars in cash assistance to families in need of medicine, food, and shelter. Here are some pictures to let you know what you made possible.
